Carrot Cake Smoothie – How To Make VIDEO

Now that school is back in session, I find myself looking for a healthy, quick, easy breakfast. One that will keep me satisfied and full until mid-morning, and is a complete, balanced meal. Are your mornings hectic with getting kids off to school or getting yourself up and out the door to work without time to make a healthy breakfast like eggs, turkey bacon, and whole grain toast?

Back to smoothies –  Now you may be saying to yourself right now, “But I don’t eat breakfast. Is it important to eat breakfast? I’m not hungry until noon.” The answer to that question is a resounding YES. It is very important to eat a healthy breakfast and here are 6 reasons why:

  1. The word “breakfast” actually means “to break the fast”. Meaning we need to break the fast from sleeping when we’re not eating for 8 or more hours.
  2. Eating breakfast jumpstarts your metabolism and gets your energy going for the day
  3. Studies have shown that people who eat a low-glycemic breakfast eat 80% less calories for the day. Wow, that’s a lot!
  4. Eating a healthy breakfast helps with cognitive abilities, behavior, and performance in children.
  5. Eating a low-glycemic breakfast helps to decrease the risk of obesity and helps with weight management.
  6. You won’t need that energy pick-me-up at 10am in the morning that can be full of sugar and very inflammatory to your body.

I make a smoothie for breakfast almost every day.
