This treat makes a great gift for your kids teachers, as a hostess gift, or for you to have on the dessert table at your own holiday party or dinner. This recipe was such a big hit with my family that it’s going to be a regular recipe every Christmas! I hope your family and friends enjoy it too!

Did you know that dark chocolate has a number of health benefits for your heart, brain, and is chock full of antioxidants to help reduce inflammation too? Check out all the benefits here as well as my Dark Chocolate Vegan Truffle recipe.

You can buy holiday decorated glass containers at The Dollar Store, like I did,  to keep your expense down. Or even wrap up 4-5 pieces in colored cling wrap and tie with colored twine.

I used two 9×9 pans to keep the process going with one pan in the refrigerator and the other pan making another recipe. I ended up tripling the recipe since my family kept asking if I was keeping any of this delicious treat for ourselves.

  1. Lightly grease a 9×9 inch pan and line it with waxed paper; set aside
  2. Place the dark chocolate and 1 teaspoon of the grapeseed oil in a medium glass bowl. Microwave on 50% power for 1 minute. Stir and continue microwaving at 50% power until melted, stirring every minute, for about more 3 minutes.
  3. Once the chocolate is melted, stir in 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint extract
  4. Pour the melted chocolate in the prepared pan. Spread evenly over the bottom of the pan.
  5. Refrigerate until completely hardened, about 1 hour.
  6. Place white chocolate and remaining 1 teaspoon of grapeseed oil in a medium bowl. Microwave exactly the same way as the dark chocolate, making sure not to over microwave. Be sure to stir every minute.
  7. Once the white chocolate is melted, stir in the remaining 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract.
  8. Pour the white chocolate directly over the dark chocolate layer; spread evenly.
  9. Sprinkle the crushed candy over the top and gently press in.
  10. Refrigerate until completely hardened.
  11. Remove from pan and break into small pieces.
  12. Share & Enjoy!
